2026 New Year’s Address from the Land of Black Soil

In 2025, the silence on the black soil was broken. 'Manchuria' is no longer just a cardinal direction on a map, but the root of countless souls. When the destiny of the homeland returns to the hands of the Manchurian people, it is not just a new year, but a long march toward the 'self.' In 2026, may we be rooted here and born free.
As time crosses another ring of the years, we step into 2026 together with our homeland. Looking back at 2025, it was a year worthy of being recorded—because change is happening, and everything is beginning to sprout.
This year, we were delighted to meet many new friends and continuously collect and absorb information, perspectives, and the true sentiments of our elders and fellow countrymen from home. Different experiences and modes of expression clashed and validated one another within the shared context of the “White Mountains and Black Waters.” More importantly, we collectively witnessed an unmistakable fact: more and more ordinary people in Manchuria have begun to re-examine the destiny of their home and their personal futures from the perspective of Manchuria itself, rethinking the region’s place and future in the world. A voice belonging to the people of Manchuria is becoming increasingly clear: Manchuria belongs to the people of Manchuria, and the destiny of Manchurians should be held in their own hands. This reflection is authentic and firm—a silent declaration, a resonant prelude.
For many of our elders and kin, 2025 was the Year One of the awakening of Manchurian local consciousness. It was not called for by any individual, nor led by any authority; rather, it was reminded and evoked time and again through a series of real events and lived realities. People began to realize that this land of “White Mountains and Black Waters” is not an abstract geographic term, but a reality closely linked to everyone’s opportunities, development, memories, and dignity. “Homeland”—a living word—has been awakened in the hearts of more people, and more thoughts based on the destiny of Manchuria have begun to germinate and coalesce upon this soil.
We have always believed that the Great Way is simple, and all paths eventually converge. The awakening of local consciousness represents self-knowledge and self-reflection; it is a long journey to find oneself. By thinking from the perspective of Manchuria, we know where we come from and where our destiny leads. What we do is preserve a space for these bursting thoughts to find a voice, providing a spiritual home where we can communicate candidly and understand one another.
Looking forward to 2026, we have reason to maintain optimistic expectations and steady confidence. We believe more compatriots will grow and flourish in their own ways—whether on this still-vibrant land or in distant places—expressing the authenticity and vitality that belongs to Manchuria. Our thoughts will continue to develop and absorb new ideas; as long as they are rooted in love for this land, our directions will ultimately converge.
For we believe: “When the same seed lies in the hearts of a group of people simultaneously, then, as long as the conditions are right, it will surely take root and sprout.”
No matter where we are, Manchurians may be separated by ten thousand miles, but our hearts are always connected to our home. Because everything there concerns us.
On the occasion of the New Year, the Land of Black Soil extends its most sincere blessings to all the elders and kin who care for, think about, live in, and remember Manchuria. May the people on the black soil and our friends afar in 2026 all stride forward steadily and firmly on their own paths.
